The typical layout of both historic and contemporary workshops
includes clay storage and preparation areas, an area for storing,
wedging and drying, the kilns, a painting area, more storage
for completed items, sales and packing areas, and living quarters.
This floor plan is derived from early Islamic potteries in
Spain.
