The Mexican series, Abó Polychrome, appears
to be based on the serie punteada, the earliest Spanish-made
Rennaissance-style pottery dating from between 1570 and 1620. The regal
Renaissance figure has been replaced by a stereotypical portrayal of
a Mexican Indian adorned with quetzal or guacamaya feathers.
