Ropero / Cupboard, 1992
Water soluble pigments and gesso on pine
Collections of the Palace of the Governors

An inscription on the inside of this cupboard dedicates it to fellow santero James Córdova who dreamed that López was making a painted cupboard. López had had a similar dream earlier which was what inspired him to make the piece. The ropero was designed to hold religious articles, such as chalices and vestments.
