Karma Sopa (b. 1980), Tibet Bleeds: "I painted this because I heard about Chinese fooling the Tibetans and making them suffer. I imagined all that, so I painted it. I painted the map of Tibet gold, as Tibet was very rich earlier. The hand represents China trying to bleed dry Tibet. I have painted the sides black because the Chinese torture Tibetans in such a way that it is not visible to others. The darkness represents the evil work of the Chinese, which is done very quietly. I drew that in black because the Chinese are killing the Tibetan people."

Tenzin "Tenor" Norbu, (b. 1981), HH and Gandhi: When he was young, His Holiness the Dalai Lama was very influenced by Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of non-violence as well as his application of satyagraha (non-violent resistance) for political purposes. In this painting we see homage being offered both to the spirit of Gandhi and to the Dalai Lama’s contemporary determination for a peaceful solution to the Tibet issue, which won him the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989.
